Getting Ready For Going Back to School

It's that time of year again, when we start to get the kids ready for going back to school.

So I took the opportunity to get some photos while everything is nice and new.

Kingfisher (and a new texture)

This Kingfisher has been visiting our garden for the past week.  Every day I have tried to get a photo but it is just too quick and flies away before I can even pick up my camera.   Today it was sitting on a shady branch trying to escape the heat.  I couldn't get too close, though.  So I took this picture through a window and my lens was at full zoom (200mm).

When the sun hits it's wings the colour is the most vivid shade of blue.

The texture I used was Fremantle using Soft Light at 33% opacity. I named this texture after the beautiful stone buildings we saw on a visit to the town of Fremantle in Western Australia.

You can download the texture here.

My Back to Nature kit was created a few years ago, but I managed to find a copy of the background papers used in the layouts above.
