I Heart Faces Photo Challenge - Vroom Vroom

My son with his latest Lego creation. I thought this look had a timeless feel, so I ran Pioneer Woman's 'Seventies' action on the photo.

Tiger

One of my favorite places to visit is Dreamworld. On our last visit, the highlight for me was seeing the tigers at Tiger Island. It was beautiful to see the tigers interacting with their handlers in a specifically designed environment without the constraints of cages.

Pretty in Pink

These fabulous fungi appeared after a few days of rain. This photo was taken late in the afternoon when the sun was almost gone. When I went back to take some more pictures the next day, these little guys were gone too.

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge - Jump for Joy

This photo was taken about four years ago. My daughter (then six) wanted to learn how to high jump. So we searched around the backyard and found a couple of pots for the base, a broom for the bar and we had made our very own high jump. It was a great afternoon as you can tell from the smile on her face.

After the Rain

It's been raining for the last couple of days so the camera hasn't ventured out of its bag. Here's a photo from a few weeks ago taken after the rain stopped.

Coffee Shop's New Web Colour Block It Action

I just tried the new Coffe Shop Web Colour Block It Action. It adds a custom colour block on any side of your image as well as giving you the option of plain or rounded corners. You can download this PS/PSE action for free from the Coffee Shop . Thanks Rita!

You can use anything for a backdrop

Don't have a backdrop handy? Not a problem. The photo of this gorgeous orchid was taken by sitting the pot on top of a board with another board hinged behind it.

My Dad made this backdrop for taking photos of model planes. I thought it would work well for flowers too. Thanks Dad!

A Rose for Valentine's Day

To make those beautiful Valentine's Day flowers last forever, why not take a photo.

Here's how I created this picture using Photoshop Elements 8 with textures from ShadowHouse Creations:
  • Open your photo - this will become the Background Layer.
  • Layer 1: Open your first texture. I used 'Lime' from the Heavenly Vintage Texture Set. Then set your blend mode to 'Soft Light'.
  • Layer 2: Open your second texture. This time I used 'ACT4' from the Aged Canvas Texture Set. Set your blend mode to 'Overlay'.
  • Merge Layers.

Thanks to Jerry from ShadowHouse Creations for sharing these amazing textures.

Happy Valentine's Day!
