Eucalyptus curtisii (Plunkett Mallee)

Native to Queensland, Australia, the Eucalyptus curtisii or Plunkett Mallee is a small tree growing to between two and seven metres in height.

Clusters of creamy, white flowers appear in late spring.

Green Tree Frogs

The theme for Texture Tuesday this week is "Look Up".

I didn't have any recent photos which I thought would be suitable, so I went back into the archives and found a photo from January this year - Green Tree Frogs.

On this particular evening, I remember going into the backyard to get out into the cool air.  We heard a noise coming from the roof.   When we looked up, there were more than 20 green tree frogs looking down at us.

For this image I used the texture "Unleashed" by Kim Klassen.

Polar Bear - Sea World, Gold Coast, Australia

When sorting through some photos today, I came across these images from a trip earlier in the year to Sea World.

The highlight of the day for me, was seeing a polar bear awake.   On every previous visit the bears have been sleeping.

This one entertained us for about ten minutes playing with a plastic pot.

Eventually, the bear seemed to get bored.....

.....and swam away.

In honour of breast cancer awareness, the theme for this week's Flower Art Friday is 'Pink'.

Here is a selection of varying shades of pink flowers from my garden.

Rock Daisy

We planted a rock daisy plant in our garden over the weekend.

One single purple flower about the size of a thumbnail has already appeared.

One tiny bud about 2mm in diamater is waiting to bloom.

Nerima Gardens

One of our favourite places to visit during the school holidays is Queens Park, in particular the Japanese themed Nerima Gardens.

The gardens are a place of peace and tranquility.

My Son brought his camera along too.

There is plenty of wildlife to see.

We found the cutest pair of baby Noisy Miner birds sitting on a branch.   They looked so angelic ..... till their Mum came back with some food.

There are so many different paths to explore.

It's hard to believe that the gardens are only a five minute walk away from the CBD.
