After recent rain, the citrus trees are starting to flower.

The fruit is beginning to appear.

When you walk amongst the trees, you smell the most amazing perfume.

When you look underneath the flowers, you can see tiny spots on the petals.

Beautiful Nikki. I especially like the last, a very different perspective. Our citrus flowered a few months ago with only our lemon setting fruit. Which citrus are these?
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, These are from our lime, orange and mandarin trees. They produce a lot of fruit but we also have a lemonade tree which isn't doing so well.
DeletePretty....I'm glad you told us the trees' species...I was gonna ask in my comment. I bet the yard smells heavenly when they're all in full bloom.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful citrus flower photos. Nice captures!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful day!

morning Nikki! (perhaps more like evening for you) I pinned each of your photos to my Pinterest board: photo motos. THANK YOU for your nice birthday greetings. You made my day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I cant wait for flowers to return to my area... Spring cannot come soon enough!
ReplyDeleteLovely!!! Love the B&W!!! Especially the white spots on the petals...a really interesting detail!!! That detail balances out the business of the branches and leaves creating a really nice composition!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous series of shots!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! They are so clear and crisp!
ReplyDeleteI just love your macro shots. we have a lemon tree which is bearing fruit but also still getting flowers on it - the smell is wonderful. I haven't noticed the spots before so I must have a look tomorrow! I've had some macro shots, but they aren't as clearly focussed as yours. Do you use a tripod? Maybe i'm just getting too old to hand hold :-P
